WHAT I LEARNED FROM THE BIRDS

WHAT I LEARNED FROM THE BIRDS

About a year ago when it felt like my life was falling apart. I started going outside every day and meditating. After my meditation was over I’d noticed the birds flying and sit there in stillness gazing at thier beauty.

I’d count how many times they would flap their wings. Every bird was different, but it was about 1-3 flaps and then they would ride the wave for what seemed like a long time. 1-3 flaps and ride the wave again

Humans are crazy I thought. We have it all backwards. We flap our wings like crazy and then barely rest.

Birds are so graceful. They are not exerting tons of energy. They do what’s needed and then ride the wave.

Why are most flapping their wings over and over and feeling like shit if they rest?

And then as I kept thinking about this I heard one of my mentors, LiYana Silver say (I’m paraphrasing),

“We are like birds. One wing is feminine and the other masculine. Our masculine wing is overly puffed up, strong, and in control and our feminine wing is sort of shriveled up. It causes us to fly in circles.”

I’d been shedding my push, shove, hustle work ethic. Like most powerful women, I’m great at hustling, pushing projects forward BUT I realized it caused me to sacrifice my deeper feeling sense, my truest creativity, and many times over look my intuition (cause there aint no time for that). My body was more or less numb, but I could still produce and meet my deadlines.

What I have come to realize is that both masculine and feminine are important, and within us all. This is not a conversation about gender. It’s about greater balance and using all of our strengths instead of a few.

Now I can see that this feminine side is the answer that many powerful women are seeking, but are afraid that they will not be able to create results while they are there. It’s SO far from the truth. The results are EPIC and the true creativity is incomprehensible.

It seems to me that the only way that this type of high achieving powerful person will have the knowing to live and lead their soul’s purpose, create from deep within, and truly create epic results that lead to nourished expansion instead of burn out is to build that feminine wing, so that the balance is restored.

This year I am dedicating all of my personal experiments, programs, and coaching to be about how to connect deeper with the divine feminine. I don’t have all the answers, but I have come to realize so many things this past year that are making life brighter.

If you are feeling stuck, unmotivated, and ready for a change. It might be time to remember that your intuition, your pleasure, your rest, your ability to be still and go inward are SO important to your next evolution. I’d love to hear how this is resonating for you? Yes, Hell No, what the heck are you talking about…

Jeremy DeWeese captured this picture of the white bird while we were out on a kayaking trip on New Year’ Day. My whole life when a white bird appeared it was a sign that darker hard times were about to lift and that peace + lightness was coming. I screamed to Jeremy to get a photo and my son teddy was yelling and trying to scare the bird away, but she sat quietly for a while while we photographed her.

And if you are still reading this is for you — I’ve been dreaming up the most delicious year long program that I have ever created, it will begin in March 2019. I am SOOSOSO excited. I’ll be sharing soon! Luminous Leaders FemFlow Mastery Program 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
