HOW TO COMBINE ALL THE THINGS YOU LOVE INTO YOUR BIZ

I love so many things, as do most of the people that I know, however we’ve been sold a lie “You have to focus on just one thing to be great at it.” I’m not saying this is downright wrong, but what happens when we focus on only one thing we can miss the opportunities of bringing things together in a way that is as unique as we are.

Take me for example. I love lots of different things. 

• 1:1 coaching, group programs, online stuff 
• meditation, energy work, women’s gatherings
• plant based eating + healthy living
• selling and educating on essential oils
• educating on plant medicines + micro dosing
• dancing + amazing music
• helping women connect to their soul 
• we now have a new wood fired pizza business (yay!) and i love the in person community aspect of it. 

How the heck do I do all of these things without feeling scattered all over the place?

Give me a “hell ya” if you feel my pain!

I’d been taught (probably as you have) by so many marketing courses that it’s best to simplify and only offer 1-3 things so that’s what I did for years. I focused on personal coaching, creating powerful personal development programs, and said NO to most everything that came my way, even if I was interested. I’d share with my private clients but that’s all – hiding many parts of myself with the world.

As I was actively growing my doTERRA business. I keep it all separated in different compartments. My coaching biz was online while I was quietly sharing and educating people about doTERRA in my local area online even though I know a lot about online marketing.  

I was under the impression that it’s best to focus all of my energy on only 1 thing because focusing on more than one thing would scatter my energy and therefore my results, right? 

That is until my 1 thing came to a screeching halt and I was faced with the question what do I want to do next?

 I HAD NO ANSWER.

FOR MONTHS I BEGGED AND PLEADED WISHING I KNEW WHAT WAS NEXT.

NOTHING FELT EXACTY RIGHT AND MY MIND WAS CLOSED OFF TO THE IDEA OF FINDING NEW A WAY TO DO THEM ALL.

But as the universe does, it showed me very clearly that I was not going to be able to do things the way I once did. Not only were those things not working as well as they had in the past, they were not fulfilling me as they had. I tried so many things, but nothing felt quit right.

 So I made a pact with myself,

“I will only do things that feel 100% aligned for me  – NO MATTER WHAT. If I feel a soul yes I will move forward.” 

I also remembered a big lesson I learned in Bali. Our guide said “When you go in a straight line, eventually it breaks. It’s best to flow back and forth.” Which to me means to allow ourselves the ability to dabble in our passions to see how they formulate into something extraordinary.

I’ve been doing just that for the past year and it’s been eye opening to see that I love to share SO many things that did not until recently feel connected.

– i loved being with people at the farmer’s marketing making pizzas with my family

-i loved having deep spiritual conversations with the clients that I’ve worked with for over a year

-i loved meditating and learning more about raising our energy

-i love cleaning and clearing my home

-i loved talking about numerology + astrology all the time (don’t get me started -I won’t shut up lol)

-i loved sharing about the healing power of plants

BUT HOW ON EARTH DO ALL OF THESE THINGS GO TOGETHER? 

The simple answer is they don’t and they do.

The more I listened to my “SOUL YES” it’s left a breadcrumb trail which is finally starting to come together in various ways. As I’ve allowed myself to do what I love — I’m now seeing that in many ways they all feed & fuel each other.

As I’ve expanded my passions I must expand my business umbrella.

Instead of niching down I’m at a point where I need to widen and expand it. 

I’m a Soul Path Coach – what I love most is to connect women to that soul and empower them to listen. I use essential oils, plant medicines, retreats, meditation, energy work, and online and in-person programs to facilitate this deeper connection with themselves and their unique voice. 

What I’ve been learning is that the soul is not a straight line. It’s not interested in logic. But she does have a larger purpose and plan for you. We must answer the call when the soul whispers…

Because of the pact I made with myself — I’m finding that I’m able to be uniquely me,  all of me, instead of following the formula of someone else’s success!  It’s helped me get to the place that I’ve always wanted. Creating from within – making my own path. Saying yes to it all and enjoying the mystery of how it all connects.

 All of those years that I was singularly focused I did create “success”, but there was a cost. I was too often in my masculine “getter-done” phase going towards a straight line – like the tiger hunting it’s pray. I’d say NO to so much that my soul wanted more of until I found myself with a large bank account, tired, unfulfilled, and feeling disconnected with much of my soul.

Over the last few months I’ve been working with a handful of clients who were craving ways to integrate more of their soul’s passions into work. Together we’ve found creative, simple, personalized ways for them to move forward.

+One woman has a large network marketing company with a nail strip company, she is a health coach, now vegan and she asks me if it would be weird for her to start teaching cooking classes. WEIRD, NO WAY! That’s a great idea, follow that desire and I promise it will at some point merge with your goal to continue expanding your nail business. Would you want to go to a class where you were learning how to cook some delicious plant based foods and do your nails while you were waiting — healthy and hot, sign me up!

+One of my clients called because she said she was ready to move forward coaching burned out corporate executives. She’s a health coach, Project manager at a big corporation, she owned a tiny home and ran it as an AIRBNB for a while until she sold it. As we chatted about ideas I learned of her passion of not only having passive income but teaching about it. She also felt many execs could use a nourishing retreat. We created a unique retreat plan, she’s looking to buy another tiny home near her house and will merge all of these loves together. Not to mention that she’s working on all of this slowly as she is still working her 9-5. We have a plan to be ready to go part time by Jan 2020! Brilliant and all of it is uniquely her! 

+ Another client came to me to figure out how to start a yoga business after finishing yoga teacher training. After I heard about all of the things that she’s studied, her personal life experience – I asked her if she’d ever considered working with people privately in their homes and offering more than yoga alone. We created some unique programs that merge all of her loves and skills which will held her make way more money that teaching yoga alone – and it will be even more satisfying for her we suspect. 

I could go on and on.

I feel that it’s time for us women to claim it all.

To begin to create from our soul path and chuck the old rules out the window.
